One of television's most warmly remembered comedies, 'The Andy Griffith Show' follows a small town sheriff and his bumbling but well-meaning deputy. It may be quiet and relatively crime free in Mayberry, and its sheriff's demeanor may appear easygoing, but Andy Taylor is always on the case. The warm stories and subtle humor of this universally adored television classic continue to charm and captivate audiences more than 50 years after its original airing.

Jeff Pruitt, a farmer from the hills, comes to Mayberry in search of a wife. He enlists Barney and Andy's help and ends up picking Thelma Lou!

Opie joins a secret club that meets in Jubal Foster's barn. When Jubal burns his own barn down, he attempts to blame the group of boys.

Ep 15: Bailey's Bad Boy

Rich kid Ronald Bailey is jailed when he blatantly defies the law. As Bailey waits for his influential father to bail him out, Andy teaches him the lesson of self-responsibility.

Ep 16: The Manicurist

A beautiful manicurist from the city comes to Floyd's to set up shop. She makes all the wives in town extremely nervous as she manicures their husbands.

After a series of mishaps, Henry Bennett gets a reputation in town as a jinx. The more Andy tries to dispel the rumor the deeper the hole gets, until Henry decides it would be best if he left town altogether.

Ep 18: Jailbreak

State police come to town in search of payroll robbers. They want Andy and Barney to stay out of the way, but end up needing them more than they thought.

Ep 19: A Medal for Opie

Opie has his heart set on winning a medal in a foot race at the town picnic. When he loses, he exhibits poor sportmanship. Andy teaches him a lesson about being a good sport.

Ep 20: Barney and the Choir

When the awful sound coming from the Mayberry choir is narrowed down to Barney, the members decide they must get rid of him, but no one has the heart to do it. They devise a plan with an allegedly super-sensitive microphone.

Ep 21: Guest of Honor

As a sort of publicity stunt, the town decides to pull over the first car that drives through Mayberry and make its occupant the town's guest of honor. That lucky driver? A recently released convict.

Ep 22: The Merchant of Mayberry

Traveling salesman Bert Miller is getting tired of traveling, so Andy and Barney plan to help him set up a small general goods shop on a vacant lot.

Ep 23: Aunt Bee the Warden

When the Mayberry jail is filled to capacity with a group of moonshiners who blame Otis for their capture, Andy takes Otis home to serve his term.

Ep 24: The County Nurse

Mary Simpson, the county nurse, wants to get all of the farmers in the county to take their innoculations. Figuring everyone will follow suit if she can just get Rafe Hollister to do it, she enlists the help of Andy.

Ep 25: Andy and Barney in the Big City

While staying in Raleigh, Barney believes he is witnessing a man casing the hotel clientelle. Barney is right in believing a crime about to be committed, but he is tailing the house detective and has hooked up with the real crook.

Ep 26: Wedding Bells for Aunt Bee

After Clara convinces Aunt Bee that Andy won't be able to find a wife as long as she's around, Aunt Bee begins searching for a man whom she can marry.

Ep 27: Three's a Crowd

Every time Andy tries to be alone with Mary, Barney shows up. After Andy explains that he wants to be alone with her, Barney believes that Andy is planning to propose.

Ep 28: The Bookie Barber

A bookie from Raleigh sets himself up in Floyd's barbershop as an extra barber, trying to avoid the heat. Andy gets suspicious when the new barber has the same three clients.

Ep 29: Andy on Trial

A news mogul swears revenge on Andy after he is arrested for what he deems a minor infraction. In retaliation, he sends a reporter to Mayberry to dig up whatever dirt she can on Andy.

Ep 30: Cousin Virgil

Barney tries to help out his visiting cousin, Virgil. When Virgil makes one too many mistakes, Barney rails against him and storms out. Leave it to Andy to put things right.

Ep 31: Deputy Otis

Otis has been writing letters to his brother and sister-in-law for some time on courthouse stationary. Because of this, they have come to believe that he is a deputy, something they expect to see on their upcoming visit.

Ep 1: Mr. McBeevee

While walking through the woods, Opie meets Mr. McBeevee, a man who, Opie claims, "lives in the trees" and "jingles when he walks." Andy eventually learns that Opie's new friend works for the telephone company.

Ep 2: Andy's Rich Girlfriend

Andy has begun seeing Peggy McMillan and he discovers she is from a wealthy family. The differences in their upbringings and education unsettle Andy, and he begins to doubt the ability of the relationship to endure.

Ep 3: Andy and the New Mayor

Andy and the new mayor are not on the same page in terms of Andy's style of managing Mayberry's sheriff's department.

Ep 4: Andy and Opie, Bachelors

Andy and Opie are left alone while Aunt Bee goes out of town. Peggy, Andy's new girlfriend, takes great delight in helping the boys handle things. Floyd warns Andy that Peggy is using her feminine wiles to "snare" him.

Ep 5: The Cow Thief

The mayor calls in an investigator from the state capital to help solve a string of cow thefts.

Ep 6: Barney Mends a Broken Heart

Andy shows up for a date with Peggy McMillan only to learn her old friend, Don, has arrived unexpectedly, leading to a string of misunderstandings and Barney's attempts at help.

Ep 7: Lawman Barney

Barney's ability to be a lawman is put to the test with some peddlers and he fails. His confidence is shattered until Andy steps in behind the scenes and warns the peddlers of "Fife the Fierce."

Ep 8: The Mayberry Band

Mayor Stoner declares the town's marching band a disgrace and refuses to allocate money for its annual trip to the state competition. Andy takes matters into his own hands, with help from Bobby Fleet and his Band with a Beat.

Ep 9: Floyd the Gay Deceiver

Madeline Grayson, a rich widow that Floyd has been "pen-palling" with, announces in her next letter that she wants to meet him face-to-face. Of course, the whole time Floyd has been pretending in his letters to be a wealthy entrepreneur.

Ep 10: Opie's Rival

Opie is afraid that Andy's new girlfriend, Peggy, will take his place in his father's heart, and sets out to sabotage their relationship.

Ep 11: Convicts-at-Large

Barney and Floyd run out of gas while coming home from a fishing trip. While looking for a telephone they are captured by three female escaped convicts.

Ep 12: The Bed Jacket

Aunt Bea longs for a special present: a blue bed jacket.

Ep 13: The Bank Job

Barney tries to convince everyone of a lack of security at Mayberry Bank, and is furious that no one listens to him. Taking matters into his own hands, he ends up stuck in the bank vault.

Opie must learn to defend himself against a bully.

Ep 15: Barney and the Governor

Barney is goaded into ticketing the governor's car and mistakenly believes Andy is setting him up for a dressing-down by the governor.

Big businessman Malcolm Tucker is stuck in Mayberry on a Sunday when his car breaks down outside the city limits. He's soon driven to frustration when he finds there is no way to get anything done until the following day.

Barney gets hysterical when Andy receives a letter from a man he arrested and sent to prison. The convict is to be released soon and says in the letter that he is coming to settle the score with Andy.

Ep 18: The Loaded Goat

An escaped goat eats a case of dynamite that was going to be used for blasting and puts Mayberry in danger—especially when Otis Campbell gets drunk.

Ep 19: Class Reunion

Andy meets up with his high school sweetheart at their reunion and it appears they could be rekindling their relationship. But do they want the same things, and did they ever?

Opie has his first crush, who ignores him. Barney steps in and tries to give him advice about women, which leads to Opie developing a crush on Thelma Lou.

Ep 29: A Wife for Andy

Barney believes that Andy should be getting married.

Ep 30: Dogs, Dogs, Dogs

Visiting officials take pause when they visit Mayberry and find that the courthouse is full of dogs.

Ep 31: Mountain Wedding

Andy and Barney visit the Darlings to rid them of Ernest T. Bass, who has his mind set on marrying daughter Charlene.

Ep 32: The Big House

When the state police leave two captured bank robbers in the custody of the Mayberry police department overnight, Barney is determined to show the prisoners that the Mayberry jail is as good as any other.

Ep 1: Opie the Birdman

Opie accidentally kills a mother bird with his new slingshot and takes it upon himself to raise the orphaned baby birds. After adopting them, Opie faces the difficult task of setting them free.

Ep 2: The Haunted House

After Opie and his friend, Arnold, hit a baseball into the window of an old, abandoned house, they hear noises and run for help. Barney and Gomer go to investigate—and hear noises, too!

Ep 3: Ernest T. Bass Joins the Army

Ernest T. wants to join the Army to impress a girl with the uniform. When he is refused induction, he goes on a window-breaking rampage.

Ep 4: The Sermon for Today

A visiting preacher gives a sermon about taking time to relax. In trying to create an atmosphere of relaxation on a Sunday afternoon, the townsfolk all end up running themselves ragged.

Ep 5: Briscoe Declares for Aunt Bee

Briscoe Darling becomes obsessed with Aunt Bee after hearing her recite a poem, going as far as to kidnap her and bring her back to his shack in the hills.

Ep 6: Gomer the House Guest

Andy takes Gomer in after Wally fires him for not doing his job right. Gomer proceeds to drive Andy, Aunt Bee and Opie crazy with all of the noise he makes.

Ep 7: A Black Day for Mayberry

Andy and Barney are to protect a shipment of gold passing through Mayberry. It's critical that they keep it a secret, but Barney spills the beans immediately and soon all the town knows.

Ep 8: Opie's Ill-Gotten Gain

Opie is given a bike after bringing home a report card filled with straight As. He soon discovers that the high marks were a mistake.

Ep 9: A Date for Gomer

Gomer is asked by Andy and Barney to take Thelma Lou's cousin, Mary Grace Gossage, to the Chamber of Commerce dance.

Ep 10: Up in Barney's Room

After being kicked out of Mrs. Mendlebright's boardinghouse, Barney becomes suspicious of the man who takes his room.

Ep 11: Citizen's Arrest

Barney gives Gomer a ticket for making an illegal U-turn, but then when Barney does it, Gomer has no choice but to make a citizen's arrest.

Ep 12: Opie and His Merry Men

When Opie and his friends find a hungry man in the woods who tells them the story of Robin Hood, the boys begin to steal for the man.

Ep 13: Barney and the Cave Rescue

Barney is the laughingstock of the town after he mistakes the owner of the Mayberry Bank as a robber.

Ep 14: Andy and Opie's Pal

Andy pays attention to a fatherless new boy in town, which makes Opie jealous.

Ep 15: Aunt Bee the Crusader

Aunt Bee and most of the women in town rally against Andy when he tries to evict a much-beloved butter and egg man.

Barney comes back from a police auction with a motorcycle and sidecar. After he upsets the whole town with the conveyance, Andy has to find a way to convince Barney to give up the bike.

Ep 17: My Fair Ernest T. Bass

Andy tries to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear when he takes it upon himself to turn Ernest T. into a presentable gentleman. The big test comes at Mrs. Wiley's weekly reception, at which Andy passes him off as his cousin.

Ep 18: Prisoner of Love

A lady prisoner woos Andy and Barney.

Ep 19: Hot Rod Otis

Otis has Mayberry worried when he buys a car.

Ep 20: The Song Festers

Gomer's singing voice surprises everyone, especially Barney.

Ep 21: The Shoplifters

Weaver's Department store is being robbed, presumably by shoplifters. Barney poses as a mannequin to catch a thief.

Ep 22: Andy's Vacation

A grumpy Andy agrees to take a few days off and heads up to the lake to relax. Barney and Gomer are in charge, and manage to capture (and lose) an escaped convict who hides in the same woods where Andy just happens to be.

Ep 23: Andy Saves Gomer

Gomer is convinced that Andy saved his life by putting out a small fire at the filling station. He then begins to repay Andy by becoming his servant.

Ep 24: Bargain Day

Aunt Bee, in a flurry of cost-cutting measures, saves money on beef by buying a whole side of it. Unfortunately, this happens at the same time her freezer breaks.

Ep 25: Divorce, Mountain Style

Andy finds himself embroiled in a strange backwoods divorce ritual, ending up as the object of Charlene Darling's affections.

Ep 26: A Deal Is a Deal

In their efforts to win a pony, Opie and his friends become involved in a scam that has them shilling a useless miracle salve.

Ep 27: Fun Girls

Andy and Barney are working late at the courthouse when they get a visit from two wild women. Out of pure kindness, they drive the "fun girls" home, but don't know that Helen and Thelma Lou saw them with the women.

Ep 28: The Return of Malcolm Merriweather

Aunt Bee gets upset when Malcolm Merriweather returns to Mayberry.

Ep 29: The Rumor

When Barney sees Andy kissing Helen in a jewelry store, he gets the idea that they are engaged. So he starts planning an engagement party and gets the whole town involved.

Ep 30: Barney and Thelma Lou, Phfftt

After Gomer naively tells Thelma Lou that Barney thinks "he has her in his hip pocket." Thelma Lou decides to teach Barney a lesson by flirting with Gomer.

Ep 31: Back to Nature

Andy, Barney and Gomer take a group of boys camping in the mountains to show them the pioneer life. Barney winds up getting himself and Gomer lost in the woods, and it's up to Andy to save the day.

Ep 32: Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.

Gomer comes to the courthouse one day with an announcement—he has decided to join the Marines, believing it a test of his manhood.

Ep 1: Opie Loves Helen

Opie develops a crush on his teacher, Helen Crump, at the school dance. He spends .74 cents to buy her a gift.

Ep 2: Barney's Physical

Barney learns that in order to pass the mandatory physical for the deputy's office, he must weigh more and be taller. Andy and Aunt Bee try to stretch him and fatten him up, until Andy comes up with the solution.

Ep 3: Family Visit

The Taylors quickly realize why they haven't invited Bee's sister and her husband, Ollie, for a visit in more than a decade. When Uncle Ollie borrows Andy's squad car to go fishing, it's the final straw.

Ep 4: The Education of Ernest T. Bass

Ernest T. is back in Mayberry to get his diploma. He is so determined that Andy convinces Helen to allow him to attend class, but Ernest T. isn't exactly classroom material.

Ep 5: Aunt Bee's Romance

An old beau of Aunt Bee comes to town to court her.

Ep 6: Barney's Bloodhound

Barney's attempts to train an old mutt named Blue as a police dog coincide with a manhunt for an escaped criminal.

Ep 7: Man in the Middle

Barney and Thelma Lou have an argument. They reconcile quickly, but it leads to other arguments between Andy and Barney, Thelma Lou and Helen, Andy and Helen, and another between Barney and Thelma Lou.

Ep 8: Barney's Uniform

Fred the grocery store clerk repeatedly sweeps trash into the street, even after Barney writes him a citation. Fred threatens that if he ever sees Barney out of uniform, he'll pound him, causing Barney to leave his uniform on at all times.

Ep 9: Opie's Fortune

Opie finds a lost wallet containing $50, and just as he's waited the seven-day period to claim the money as his own, the owner steps forward.

Ep 10: Goodbye, Sheriff Taylor

Andy considers moving to Raleigh for another job. An upset Barney tries to demonstrate to Andy just how bad Mayberry would be without him, creating more harm than good in his effort to get Andy to stay.

Ep 11: The Pageant

Aunt Bee gets the lead role in the Centennial Pageant as Lady Mayberry. She is, however, not up to the challenge, and Andy must find a way to tell her.

Ep 12: The Darling Baby

The Darlings come to Mayberry looking for a boy whom they could engage to Charlene's new baby. Opie becomes the prime target.

Ep 13: Andy and Helen Have Their Day

Andy and Helen are having a hard time finding quality time together, so Barney volunteers to take over for a day.

Ep 14: Three Wishes for Opie

Barney acquires some fortune-telling cards and a secret box. The cards promise magical occurrences, and when his wish is granted, he becomes convinced that the box has mystical powers.

Opie and his friends decide to start a newspaper. The early issues don't sell well, so the boys begin eavesdropping and printing local gossip in the paper.

Aunt Bee begins to feel that she is preventing Andy and Helen from pursuing their relationship. She then conjures up a beau for herself—trouble is it's the butter and egg man and he's already married.

Andy and Barney arrest the "fun girls" for speeding. It turns out to be a big mistake because Helen and Thelma Lou become jealous.

An itinerant peddler comes to town (Don Rickles) and sells Barney, Floyd and Goober defective goods. After he disregards Andy's warning, he finds himself in the Mayberry jail.

Warren, enforcing a gambling ordinance to the letter of the law, arrests Aunt Bee and her women friends (meaning, most of Mayberry) for running a bingo game.

Ep 6: A Warning from Warren

Warren is convinced he has ESP and feels that Andy and Helen are in grave danger if they go to the lake. He tries to warn them but they do not take him seriously. He takes it upon himself (with Goober's help) to "protect" them.

Ep 7: Off to Hollywood

When Andy receives $1,000 dollars for the rights to a story about him, "Sheriff Without a Gun," that will be turned into a Hollywood movie, he wants to put the money in the bank but Opie, Aunt Bee and Helen all insist he do something fun with it.

The Taylors visit Hollywood and get to see the making of 'Sheriff Without a Gun.'

Ep 9: The Hollywood Party

After Helen gets upset about a movie publicity photo of Andy and a pretty actress, Andy tries to get back at Helen by going on a date with the woman. When Helen calls to apologize, Opie tells her about the date.

Ep 10: Aunt Bee on TV

While the Taylors were in Hollywood, Aunt Bee won $4,800 worth of prizes on a game show. She is the envy of Mayberry, until her friends think that she's gloating about her winnings.

Ep 11: The Cannon

The mobile state museum is brought to Mayberry for Founder's Day. Goober and Warren stand guard and end up firing the old Civil War cannon at two burglars.

Ep 12: A Man's Best Friend

Opie makes friends with Tommy, the new kid in town. Tommy is a bit mischievous, climbing up on the roof of Andy's building and taking a gun from his gun rack.

Aunt Bee takes a job at a printing company, not realizing that her employers are counterfeiters.
